Bethlehem Area School District has named Hanover Elementary School’s next principal.
Ralph Andrews, who is currently the elementary principal for the Parkside Education Center and S.S. Palmer Elementary in the Palmerton Area School District, has been selected for the role, pending board approval, the district said in a news release.
Andrews has held his current position since 2021, and was the assistant principal at Robert Clemente Charter School in Allentown before that. He began his career in Palmerton Area School District teaching sixth grade and eighth-grade math, the release states.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Andrews to Hanover Elementary,” Superintendent Jack Silva said in the release. “His leadership experience, instructional expertise, and dedication to positive school culture make him an excellent fit for our BASD school community.”
If Andrews is approved he will take on the role later in the fall.
Hanover Elementary’s previous principal, Erin Hines, was placed on leave in April after being charged with DUI for allegedly crashing into several cars in a Bethlehem shopping center. Her preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for next week.
A district spokesperson said Hines is no longer employed by the district.
