Mine started to exhibit this today – iPhone 15pro, iOS18.5, but not just WhatsApp – Apple Messages app too. Calls still present correctly just can’t hear messages, it’s like CarPlay things it played it out but nothing happened. Have deleted all CarPlay profiles and started again with no improvement.
