Coach Bill Broderick’s Captains (6-2) extended their winning streak to four games by defeating previously unbeaten Shenandoah 64-49 Sunday in Winchester.

For Shenandoah (5-1), whose last lead was 4-3 and which was on the verge of cracking the top 25, Addisyn Banks scored 18 and Emily Williams 14.
Bryant & Stratton 81, Howard Community College 45: The Bobcats improved to 8-0 with a rout in Atlantic Shores’ gym. BSC, ranked 17th in National Junior College Athletic Association Division II, dominated from the start.
Princess Anne High alumna Hailey Harris scored 16 points, and Sanai Johnson had 15. Maury graduate Myla Parker had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Manor High graduate Sian Lewin had 12 points and Carissa Frederick added 11 points.
Jasmine Daley led HCC with 11 points, but her team shot just 26.8%.
Virginia 92, Maryland Eastern Shore 59: Five Cavaliers scored in double figures as UVA (6-2) cruised past UMES (5-5) before 3,742 at John Paul Jones Arena.
Kymora Johnson (20 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals) notched her fifth 20-point game of the season. Tabitha Amanze chipped in 17 points and nine rebounds. Jillian Brown (15) Romi Levy (14) and Gabby White (10) rounded out the double-figure scorers.
Virginia shot a season-high 55% (35 for 64) from the field and held the Hawks to 31% (18 for 58). Seven Cavaliers combined to block 13 shots.
No. 1 Connecticut 104, Xavier 39: Allie Ziebell scored 16 points and made five of a season-high 18 3-pointers for UConn (7-0, 1-0 Big East) against the Musketeers (4-3, 0-1) in Cincinnati. Ashlynn Shade scored 14 points, including four 3s, and Sarah Strong also scored 14 for the defending national champions, who had six players in double figures.
Vivien Nejasmic scored 12 points to lead Xavier.
No. 3 UCLA 99, No. 14 Tennessee 77: Gabriela Jaquez scored 29 points and made a career-high five 3-pointers in Los Angeles as UCLA (8-1) shot 58% and snapped a five-game winning streak by Tennessee.
Kiki Rice added 20 points and tied her career high with 11 rebounds for the Bruins. Jaquez made a career-high five 3-pointers.
Former Bruin Janiah Barker (5-2) led Tennessee with a career-high 25 points.
No. 4 Texas 81, Penn 63: Madison Booker had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (8-0), who won their 30th consecutive home game. Booker made all 11 of her free throws and had five assists.
Kyla Oldacre had 14 points and nine rebounds for Texas off the bench. Teya Sidberry added 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Jordan Lee scored 12. Rori Harmon made five steals.
Mataya Gayle led the Quakers (4-3) with 26 points.
No. 10 Iowa State 106, Indiana 95: Audi Crooks scored a career-high 47 points as the Cyclones (9-0) beat the Hoosiers (7-1) to win the Fort Myers Tipoff’s Blue Heron Division championship in southwestern Florida.
Crooks made 19 of her 25 field-goal attempts as she combined a feathery touch with spin moves and step-back jumpers. The 6-foot-3 center outdueled Indiana’s Shay Ciezki, who had 38 points. The Cyclones outscored Indiana 31-27 in the fourth quarter.
