It took only one week for a shakeup of six 10 teams ranked in the Colonial-Schuylkill League football top 10. Only the top four stayed the same after convincing victories in Week 1.
One team dropped out and several others are knocking on the door entering Week 2, which often represents the biggest progression in high school football.
Time will tell, shortly, with two Thursday night games involving teams ranked or on the cusp and continues through Saturday afternoon.
Schedule highlights: Northwestern Lehigh visits Northern Lehigh in the annual Mountain Road Rumble rivalry game. Southern Lehigh hosts Blue Mountain in another meeting involving top 10 teams.
Here is a look at the rankings entering Week 2:

1. Northwestern Lehigh (1-0; 1): Took care of business in ‘vanilla’ showing in Week 1.
2. Southern Lehigh (1-0; 2): Spartans can avenge one of last season’s losses Friday at home against Blue Mountain.
3. North Schuylkill (1-0; 3): The Spartans are going to score a lot of points this season.
4. Notre Dame-GP (1-0; 4): The Crusaders put forth a strong defensive effort in their season opener.
5. Williams Valley (1-0; 7): The Vikings do a handful of things really well and play together.
6. Schuylkill Haven (1-0; 8): The Hurricanes got a tremendous confidence boost by returning the favor to their rivals with a last-minute comeback win.
7. Northern Lehigh (1-0; 9): The Bulldogs’ athletes showed up in a Week 1 win over Lehighton.
8. Saucon Valley (1-0; HM): The Panthers are young, inexperienced, talented and feisty.
9. Pottsville (0-1; 5): The Crimson Tide must reduce mistakes in order to beat good teams.
10. Blue Mountain (0-1; 6): Chuck Kutz must wait at least one more week to get his first win in his second stint as the Eagles’ head coach after last Friday’s last-minute heartbreak.
Dropped out: 10. Lehighton (0-1).
