CT drug trafficker sold fentanyl, cocaine from his house and car. He will spend 9 years in prison

A Stamford man who was found guilty of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine from his house and vehicles received a nine-year federal prison sentenced on Thursday.

Samuel Elie, 49, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver in Hartford to 108 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

Elie pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and a quantity of cocaine on Sept. 29, 2025.

In November 2024, the Stamford Police Department learned that Elie was allegedly selling fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine from his house and vehicles, court records show. According to court records, investigators made three purchases of fentanyl from Elie in December 2024 and January 2025.

Elie was arrested on related state charges on Jan. 22, 2025. During a search of his home, investigators reportedly found and seized 152 grams of fentanyl, 215 grams of crack cocaine, 91 grams of powder cocaine, eight grams of methamphetamine, a gun magazine and 50 rounds of assorted ammunition, court records show.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Elie’s criminal history “includes felony convictions for firearm, drug, robbery, and other offenses.”

Elie has been detained since his arrest.
