A Wallingford man is facing multiple child exploitation charges following an FBI investigation into alleged “inappropriate text messages” with a minor.
Charles Giordano, 47, was arrested by the Wallingford Police Department on an active warrant Monday, with the assistance of the FBI, and charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, importing child pornography, risk of injury/impairing the morals of a minor, enticing a minor, commercial sexual abuse of a minor and engaging a minor in an obscene performance, according to police.
Police said the initial complaint was received by the FBI on April 17, 2024, in connection with alleged inappropriate text messages between Giordano and a minor. Following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Wallingford Police Department in partnership with the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, probable cause was established to obtain an arrest warrant for Giordano.
On Monday, officers observed Giordano in the parking lot of his residence and arrested him without incident, according to police.
Giordano was held on a $100,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Sept 8.
