CT man accused of sexually assaulting door-to-door saleswoman

A South Windsor man was arrested Monday and accused of sexually assaulting a door-to-door saleswoman who came to his home.

Charlie Phan, 64, faces charges of fourth-degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree unlawful restraint, according to Lt. Mark Cleverdon of the South Windsor Police Department.

He was arrested shortly after 4:20 p.m. after officers responded to a home on a report from a woman who alleges she was inappropriately touched and was not allowed to leave, Cleverdon said. The woman said she was at the home doing door-to-door marketing sales for her employer.

Cleverdon said Phan was arrested after he was developed as a suspect. He was later released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 17.
