CT man accused of sexually assaulting teen girl on her way to school in Bridgeport

A Bridgeport man is accused in the violent sexual assault a teenage girl who was allegedly attacked on her way to school on Tuesday morning, police said.

Cordero Javier Greaves, 28, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, illegal sexual contact with a person under 16 years of age, first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree threatening, according to the Bridgeport Police Department.

Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Department’s Special Victims Unit took Greaves into custody at his home around 1 p.m. after searching for him throughout the morning with the help of task force officers and patrol officers, police said.

The School Resource Unit also assisted in the investigation, according to police.

Police said the arrest took place near the scene of the alleged sexual assault on Railroad Avenue.

Greaves was being held on a $750,000 bond, according to police.
