A man allegedly had cocaine and fentanyl when police found him while investigating the report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle in South Windsor last week.
Jeffrey D. Pitkin, 55, of East Hartford faces charges of use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (first offense), operating or parking an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of a marker plate, license or registration and illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, according to the South Windsor Police Department.
Police said he was arrested on Friday just before 2:15 p.m. after officers responded to an undisclosed parking lot on the report of an unresponsive man in a vehicle. During the investigation, officers allegedly saw narcotics and paraphernalia “in plain view” in the vehicle, according to police.
Police allege that Pitkin had 5.76 grams of cocaine and 8 wax folds containing fentanyl. Officers also found that the license plate on the vehicle belonged to another car.
Pitkin was taken into custody and later released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. He is expected to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Jan 14.
