A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a small SUV on Route 72 in Plainville late Thursday.
The collision occurred on the eastbound side of the highway prior to Exit 4A-B just before 10:40 p.m. when 42-year-old Rondel Ager of Bristol was struck by a Buick Envision, according to Connecticut State Police.
The Buick was in the left of two lanes being driven by a 42-year-old Plymouth woman, state police said. The circumstances that led to the vehicle hitting Ager remain “unknown,” according to state police.
Ager suffered injuries that were “not compatible with life” and was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
The Buick driver did not report any injuries, state police said. The vehicle had to be towed away.
