A 20-year-old man is dead following a shooting at a social club, police said.
The man Isaiah Molina, of 17 Martin St. Hartford, was taken to an area hospital just before midnight Saturday but was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Police said officers went to the West Indian Social Club, located at 3340 Main St., just before midnight Saturday after receiving a report from citizen callers of an adult male who had been shot.
Officers located the victim, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot victim, and he was immediately transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
The victim was shortly thereafter pronounced deceased, police said. Police did not say whether the shooting took place outside. The social club has operated for more than 50 years in the city.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Divisions have assumed the investigation.
