A man was killed after being partially ejected from a vehicle that left the road in Ashford on Thursday and continued into a parking lot where it hit safety bollards and rolled over.
Roy Anderson, 51, of Putnam was headed east on Route 74, also known as Nott Highway, when the 2022 Subaru Outback he was driving left the road and struck a Department of Transportation sign, according to Connecticut State Police.
The vehicle continued east through the intersection of Route 44 and into the parking lot of Dollar General at 5 Squaw Hollow Road, state police said. The Subaru then struck several safety bollards in the parking and rolled over.
According to state police, Anderson was partially ejected from the Subaru. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
