CT man pleads guilty to distributing videos and photos of child sexual abuse

A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to distributing child sexual abuse materials

Joel Huntsman, also known as “Jay Huntsman, “Joel Feser,” and “Jay Blackburn”, 37, of Preston struck a plea deal on Tuesday in federal court in New Haven, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

In June 2022, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTip from the Kik mobile messenger app indicating that a user who was later identified as Huntsman had distributed child sex abuse images and videos to another Kik user, federal officials allege.

FBI agents later searched Huntsman’s residence in November of the same year and seized multiple items including two cell phones. An analysis of the phones revealed child sex abuse images and videos, authorities said.

Huntsman was later arrested on Jan 26, 2023. He pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum term of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years behind bars.

Huntsman has been detained since his arrest.
