CT man wanted on domestic violence warrant arrested after he was found hiding in relative’s home

A man wanted on a domestic violence arrest warrant was arrested Tuesday following a lengthy search in Norwalk.

On Friday, an alleged victim reported ongoing harassment from 40-year-old Hopeton Marsh of Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Police Department. During the investigation, officers learned that Marsh was on parole and that contacting the alleged victim was a direct violation of his parole conditions.

Based on the findings, the investigating officer applied for and was granted an arrest warrant charging Marsh with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree harassment, police said.

On Tuesday, officers established a perimeter around the area north of Westport Avenue based on information gathered during the investigation, according to police. Following the lengthy search and numerous calls from residents, officers reportedly found Marsh hiding inside a relative’s home on Fullin Court, police said.

Marsh was taken into custody and processed at police headquarters. In addition to the warrant charges, he was charged with interfering with an officer, according to police. He was remanded into the custody of parole authorities and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

“The Norwalk Police Department would like to thank the residents who provided information during the search, as well as to those whose day was impacted by the police presence,” the department said in a release on Tuesday. “Our community’s cooperation played an important role in the successful resolution of this case.”
