The years flew by.
But now, New Haven’s Skappo is set to close its doors later this year, according to an Instagram post.
The Italian restaurant announced the news Monday, Oct. 20, with a video.
“There are truly no words to express how grateful we are for all of you,” according to the post’s description.
“These past 21 years have flown by but each one has held such meaning and an immense feeling of gratitude. We may have fed your bellies, but you all filled our souls and our spirits.”
“To watching our families grow, as you tell us about yours, to joining in on a dinner or stopping by for a chat and a glass of wine,” they wrote.
Their post went on to say that “this is not the end of our journey,” with “exciting things on the horizon.”
Skappo has served New Haven since 2004, bringing “traditional Umbrian food served along with Italian wines, café and house made Italian specialty desserts and pastries,” according to their website.
