State troopers and Ledyard police are at the scene of an active investigation at a hotel at the Foxwoods Resort Casino on Monday morning.
Connecticut State Police said they responded to the casino to assist the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department. Troopers deferred comment for specifics about the incident to tribal police.
“There is an active law enforcement situation in a Fox Tower hotel room,” a spokesperson for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Police Department said in a statement. “The area has been contained by MPTN police and local law enforcement and is isolated.”
“The safety and security of our guests and team members remain our highest priority,” the spokesperson continued. “We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
A spokesperson for the Ledyard Police Department said their officers also responded to assist. According to Ledyard police, Mashantucket police are “in command of the incident.”
