Deaths of man, woman found in Pembroke Pines home ‘suspicious,’ police say

Two people were found dead in a Pembroke Pines home Wednesday afternoon, and police are calling their deaths “suspicious.”

Someone called 911 about 4:30 p.m. about an unconscious man inside of a garage in the 1700 block of Northwest 109th Avenue, Pembroke Pines Police said in a news release Thursday. The man, Octavis Myers, had been dead for awhile, police said.

Officers searched the home and found a woman dead in a bedroom. Her name will not be released until her family is notified, according to the department.

“Although it is early in the investigation, preliminary information suggests that their deaths are criminal in nature,” the news release said.

Officers are looking to find Isaiah Collins, 27, who is the grandson of the homeowner. It’s unclear if one of the deceased is the homeowner.

“There is concern for Isaiah’s wellbeing since his whereabouts are unknown,” the police department said.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200, email at tips@ppines.com or call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
