A Georgia dentist allegedly murdered his wife and teen daughter before killing himself inside their sprawling $1.7 million mansion, police said.
Officers with the Johns Creek Police Department discovered the bodies of James Choi, 52, Young Choi, 52, and 15-year-old Grace Choi on Sunday at a home on Glen Castle Court in the city’s St. Ives neighborhood, People reported. Investigators said it was an isolated incident
“Preliminary investigation indicates this was a domestic-related murder-suicide,” police said in a statement. “The suspect in this case is believed to be James Choi.”

No causes of death were provided and authorities have offered few other details. Police said an investigation is still ongoing.
“This tragic incident has deeply affected not only the family and neighbors, but our entire community,” Johns Creek Police Chief Mark J. Mitchell said. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to those impacted and ask that the community keep them in their thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.”
James, a dentist, worked and practiced in Suwanee, according to the Georgia Department of Community Health. His practice was called Highland Dental, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
“Originally from South Korea, Dr. Choi attended the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in order to pursue his doctoral dental degree,” according to the dental office’s website. “He has received specialized training in cosmetic dental procedures and the use of implants.”
Grace, meanwhile, was a sophomore Mount Pisgah Christian School.
“We are heartbroken and devastated to confirm the untimely death of one of our treasured and beloved students, sophomore Grace Choi,” the school wrote in a post on Facebook. “We wish to express our deepest condolences and our heartfelt love, support, and prayers to Grace’s extended family, friends, and everyone who is grieving with our school community.”
