Dolphins TE Darren Waller placed on IR, team signs Greg Dulcich from practice squad

MIAMI GARDENS — The pectoral injury Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns has landed him on injured reserve.

The Dolphins announced Wednesday they placed Waller on IR, which puts him out for a minimum of four games.

The earliest Waller can now return is the Nov. 30 home game against the New Orleans Saints, as the Dolphins play the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders before their Week 12 bye.

When Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel addressed Waller’s injury Monday, he indicated Waller would at least miss the coming game in Atlanta.

“It’s a situation that probably it would be living in hope to see him in the upcoming next weeks’ games, but he’ll be diligent,” McDaniel said of Waller.

The tight end who had four touchdowns in his first three games with the team left Sunday’s game in Cleveland in the first half with the chest muscle ailment. He was not targeted against the Browns.

With Waller now sidelined, the Dolphins signed practice squad tight end Greg Dulcich to the active roster.

Dulcich has 41 receptions for 464 yards and two touchdowns in three NFL seasons, with most of that production coming in his 2022 rookie season with the Denver Broncos out of UCLA.

Miami also brought back tight end/fullback Chris Myarick onto the practice squad to fill Dulcich’s vacated spot.
