TRON: ARES

Rated PG-13 for violence/action.

What it’s about: The third TRON movie sees the grid invading the real world as two tech companies strive for AI dominance.

The kid attractor factor: Not much. Maybe some appeal for teens in the aesthetic and spectacle.

Good lessons/bad lessons: AI is only as good as the person who wields it. Independent thinking and empathy are tantamount.

Violence: Some action, destruction, violence and fighting. Stabbing, death, etc.

Language: None

Sex: None

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: A bit too action-packed and intense for kids. Fine for teens.

ROOFMAN

Rated R for language, nudity and brief sexuality.

What it’s about: The wild true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a career robber who spent months living in a Toys R Us.

The kid attractor factor: This is more of a quirky adult dramedy than kids movie.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Sometimes people make bad choices while trying to do good.

Violence: Armed robberies, chasing, punching, gun-wielding, etc.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: A sex scene and some male nudity (butt).

Drugs: Some on screen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Not much appeal for kids, but fine for older kids and teens.
