A group of condominiums in the Willoughby Spit area of Norfolk were damaged Monday night by a fire, according to Norfolk Fire-Rescue.
Just after 10 p.m., Norfolk Fire-Rescue was called to 521 West Ocean View Ave. after a report of a fire. When fire personnel arrived at the scene, they found a two-story structure with smoke and flames coming from the roof, Battalion Chief Fred Paquet said in an email. Crews searched the area and confirmed all of the occupants escaped the flames and were found safe.
The fire was declared under control at 10:29 p.m. It was not immediately clear how many occupants were out of their homes, Paquet said.
The Fire Marshal’s office was investigating the cause of the fire. There were no reported injuries.
