The Pride snagged five nominations in the 2025 The Best FIFA Football Awards announced earlier this week. Four Orlando players — forwards Marta and Barbra Banda, defender Emily Sams and goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse — were nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s 11.
Marta, the 39-year-old captain of the Pride, led the team to its first NWSL Shield and championship in 2024. Marta totaled four goals and 23 tackles in 22 games this regular season.
Banda scored 13 goals in her debut season last year, scoring the lone goal in the championship game and earning the game’s MVP award. Banda led the team with eight goals this season before she was injured in August and ruled out for the rest of the season.
Emily Sams was the 2024 NWSL Defender of the Year. She played in 25 games in 2025 regular season with an accurate pass percentage of 89. For the season, she was fourth in the league in total passes with 1,446.
Moorhouse, fourth in the league in goals against average at 1.06, was also nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, and head coach Seb Hines was selected as one of the The Best FIFA Women’s Coach finalists.
All the nominees were selected based on performances between last August and this August. Voting is open to fans now on fifa.com.
