The Virginia Beach brothers famous for trading poetic hip-hop lines about gritty mindsets and rough-and-tumble streets will be home for the holidays.
Rap duo Clipse, Gene and Terrence Thornton, aka Malice and Pusha T, will perform two shows at The Dome in Atlantic Park on Dec. 26 and Dec. 27.
After a 15-year recording hiatus, Clipse stepped back into the spotlight this summer with a 20-plus concert tour promoting the drop of their fourth studio album, “Let God Sort Em Out,” which has been met with critical praise.
And music critic Anthony Fantano, in his review of Clipse’s latest effort for The Needle Drop, put it like this: “This album is like at the end of the movie when you think the bad guy is dead, but then he just gets back up and fills the protagonist with lead or slices them in half with a chainsaw.”
“Let God Sort Em Out” was produced by Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams, who has been closely associated with Clipse since he signed the group to Arista Records in 2001 and, as one half of The Neptunes, helped produce Clipse’s 2002 hit single “Grindin’.“
Tickets for the December shows go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, and information about pre-sale tickets and VIP packages can be found at letgodsortemout.com.
