Hardlock after completing flexible spines quest

Playing silksong on mac. Every time I try to give the Seamstress the spines for the wish to get the glider, the screen fades to black (music continues playing) but the game appears to hardlock (black screen remains forever, no buttons break this, can only force quit). Anyone encountered this as well?
