Hartford County schools make list of top CT high schools

A number of Hartford County schools made Niche’s list of top public high schools in Connecticut.

According to Niche’s 2026 rankings of Best High Schools in America, Farmington, Avon, Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy, Glastonbury, Hall High, Simsbury, Conard High and South Windsor all ranked in the top 20 in the state.

Niche rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews, according to a release. The 2026 Best Public High Schools in America ranking evaluates more than 93,000 public high schools nationwide.

Niche said its rankings, now in the 11th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
