A Hartford man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Waterbury earlier this month, police said.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired outside 94 Charles St. on Sept. 15 around 7:48 p.m. and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Waterbury Police Department.
The man, later identified as 29-year-old Frank Garay of Hartford, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Following an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Latroy Young of Hartford.
According to police, members of the Waterbury Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau, Auto Theft Task Force, Gang Task Force, Crime Prevention Unit, Major Crimes Unit, the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force and the Hartford Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Young on Tuesday.
Young was located and taken into custody without incident at G Style Lounge, located at 2964 Main St. in Hartford, police said.
Young has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and was held on a $1 million bond pending his court arraignment on Tuesday.
Waterbury police also hold an active arrest warrant for 45-year-old Gerard Brown, also known as Gerald Brown, of Hartford in connection with the homicide.
