A Hartford police officer was charged with DUI after police allegedly found him asleep at the wheel at a traffic light in New Britain over the weekend.
Officer Brenden Lytton has been placed on modified duty following the arrest, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
Lytton was arrested early Sunday when officers found him asleep in a vehicle stopped at a traffic light in the area of East Main Street, according to the New Britain Police Department. He was charged with operating under the influence and interfering with an officer, police said.
According to police, Lytton was fingerprinted and processed before being released on a promise to appear. He is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Oct. 17.
Boisvert said Lytton will remain on modified duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
