The four-year experiment that put the Colonial and Schuylkill leagues together and in divisions according to enrollment is over.
The two leagues will return to separate entities starting in 2026. Both will consist of two divisions based on size. The Colonial League will have two 7-team divisions. The Schuylkill League will have a six-team division consisting of the bigger schools and an eight-team division comprised of the smaller programs.
Some schools, mostly in the Schuylkill League, are still going a distance to secure games in 2026.
Nativity BVM is heading 105 miles to Montrose in Week 1. North Schuylkill is trekking 75 miles to Jersey Shore, also in Week 1. Pine Grove is taking a 95-mile journey to New Hope-Solebury in Week 4. Panther Valley is heading 70 miles to the northwest for a Week 5 game at Tunkhannock.
But rivalries in each league will remain intact or return. Wilson and Bangor did not play the last two seasons but meet next fall in Week 9. Northern Lehigh and Northwestern Lehigh will continue to meet on the Thursday of Labor Day weekend. Southern Lehigh and Salisbury are back on the schedule after four years off.
