No. 3 Western Branch 3, No. 2 Thomas Dale 1, OT shootout
The Bruins overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first half to tie the game after Kate Ward scored in the fourth quarter. Both teams were scoreless in double overtime. In the shootout, Zoe Goral and Maddie Viola each scored, with goalkeeper McKinley Kovalik preventing any goals from the Knights of Thomas Dale. With the win, Western Branch qualifies for the state tournament and advances to Thursday’s Class 6 Region A championship game at No. 1 Cosby.

The Dukes celebrated their Senior Night with a straight-set upset over the No. 10 Warriors. Seniors Bruce Miller and Grayson Shield combined for 18 blocks. Senior Ryan McCullough tallied 10 digs, while seniors Hayden Simmons and Ryan Williams combined for 22 kills.
TCIS championship
Cape Henry Collegiate d. Norfolk Christian, 3-1

The Dolphins won the TCIS championship in a team effort. Trent Parker earned a double-double with 26 kills and 14 digs, and Andrew Corcoran finished with 34 digs. Matthew Todl also recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 16 digs, while Tyler Rubino and Alijah Winfield combined for 10 kills. Mason Walesczyk added 21 digs, three aces and four assists. Jordan Glascock contributed 55 assists, four kills and 12 digs. Jaxson Moore logged 11 kills, and Ren Kurz provided two aces and six digs.

Elle Gullickson logged 17 assists and five kills for the Gators. Katelyn Balka recorded nine kills and four blocks, and Hannah Hess added seven aces. Greenbrier Christian plays at No. 1 StoneBridge for the Metro Conference championship on Thursday at 6 p.m.
