Class 5 Region A championship

Lucy Domozick scored with 3:52 left in the fourth quarter to lift the Patriots to a third consecutive region championship at Green Run High on Thursday.
First Colonial goalkeeper Addie Savoie recorded a shutout with 16 saves. The Patriots avenged a 4-2 regular-season loss to their Beach District rivals and earned a top seed in next week’s state tournament.
Class 5 Region B championship
Nansemond River 5, Maury 1
Brayden Johnson had two goals and two assists as the Warriors repeated as region champions and earned a top seed in next week’s state tournament. Caydence Parker, Caitlin Outlaw and Thandiwe Schmidt also scored for Nansemond River, while Zoe Redel netted the Commodores’ goal.
Class 3 Region A championship
Tabb 7, Poquoson 1
The unbeaten Tigers continued their domination and earned a top seed in next week’s VHSL state tournament. Tabb will host the No. 4 seed from Region B, and Poquoson will host the No. 3 seed from Region B.
