The Chiefs fell to the Jaguars in five sets.

Andrew Parker and Brandon Layne led with blocks as the Comets defeated the defending state champions in five sets. Granby advances to the state championship for the first time in school history against Glen Allen on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Raiders defeated Maggie Walker in four sets.
Hanover 3, Patrick Henry (Ashland) 1
The Hawks and Atlee compete for the state title on Saturday at 8:15 p.m.

The Grizzlies fell in straight sets to the Spartans.

The Sharks face West Springfield for the state title on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Class 5 semifinals
Kellam d. Midlothian, 3-0
(25-18, 25-15, 25-16)
Seniors Sophie Barnes and Riley Erwin led the Knights with 17 and 11 kills, respectively. Barnes also recorded 13 digs, and Erwin added 17 assists. Emmie Irving totaled 22 assists and 24 serves made with five aces. Giulia Allison and Bella D’Adarria defended with 23 and 14 respective digs.

Riverside challenges Kellam on Saturday at 11:15 a.m. for the Class 5 championship.

Kenzie Smith led the previously-unbeaten Clippers (24-1) with 21 kills and seven blocks. Ana Breckons followed with 10 kills and five blocks, and Alivia Breckons tallied nine kills and six aces. Olivia De La Cruz provided 24 assists and five aces, while Ally Burke recorded 16 digs.
