The Eagles were led by Damien Robinson and Rashad Shaw with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Josiah Law and Chase Johnson each scored 13 points, with Law adding 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. Alan Walker logged six points and six rebounds. Christian Lynch represented the Chiefs with 12 points.

#2 Denbigh 69, Heritage 41

Nasir Johnson and Kevin Parker scored 23 and 15 respective points for the Patriots. The Hurricanes were represented by Mekhi Watkins with 20 points.

#12 Princess Anne 80, First Colonial 48

NaMarqus Byrd recorded 23 points with four 3-pointers, four rebounds, two steals and three blocks for the Cavaliers. Eziah Goodson logged 21 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Nico Mclntyre and Mason Olds both scored 10 points.

#15 Tabb 79, Arcadia 73

James Mueller and Micah Marbra each scored 20 points for the Tigers. Marbra also earned a double-double with 13 rebounds, while Mueller tallied eight assists, eight rebounds and five steals. Matthew Adams logged 17 points and five rebounds. Jake Siegel provided eight points. Jordan Cropper led all scorers with 28 points for the Eastern Shore’s Firebirds.

Beach District

Cox 63, Ocean Lakes 36

Owen Jones led all scorers with 19 points for the Falcons. Nate Lessley and Roy Coles recorded 16 and 12 respective points. Jovante Nimmo and Brendan Copeland each scored 10 points for the Dolphins.

Kellam 69, Tallwood 40

The Knights had four double-figure scorers, led by Trey Barnhart with 17 points and six rebounds. Cooper Lindsey tallied 15 points, while Brody Cooper and MJ Fitch each scored 10 points.

Nondistrict

Great Bridge 54, Franklin 44

Darian Edge and Chase Blachford both finished with 10 points for the Wildcats.

Jizelle James led the Cavaliers (7-0) with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Maya Land-Dailey followed with 12 points, and Micah Ojo earned a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Run Sveinbjornsdottir tallied eight points, three rebounds, four assists and four steals.

#8 Kellam 76, Tallwood 12

The Knights were led by Lizzie Clark with a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Caroline Pinardi had 12 points. Kennedy Lassiter represented the Lions with eight points.

#11 Grafton 76, Jamestown 25

Taylor Ragland earned a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and five assists for the Clippers. Katherine Wenger added 24 points, eight assists, eight steals and five rebounds. Mya Napoleoni finished with 21 points, six assists and six steals.

Bay Rivers District

Smithfield 40, York 38

The Packers were led by Kima Anderson with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Destini Boone logged eight points and five rebounds.

Beach District

Cox 46, Ocean Lakes 43

Nyomi Thomas led the Falcons with a career-high 17 points, and Piper Aman provided nine points. Kinley Bartley, Bella Glenn and Lainey Kimnach anchored defensively.

Peninsula District

Heritage 51, Denbigh 35

Brittnee Green and Zelai Benton led the Hurricanes in their first win of the season with 24 and 17 points, respectively.

Private schools

Norfolk Academy 59, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes 23

Maria Delyannis surpassed 1,000 career points for the Bulldogs, and Maryellen Violette added 14 points as Norfolk Academy beat a team from Alexandria.

Chase Wilkerson led the Patriots as a double-event winner with the 200 freestyle (1:56.95) and 100 backstroke (1:05.04).

Landstown 223, Green Run 24

Connor Bradley was a double-event winner for the Eagles with the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.

Princess Anne 221, Bayside 54

Two Cavaliers were double-event winners: Max Alpigini won the 200 IM (2:26.95) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.45), while Matthew Wedin Wicks won the 50 freestyle (27.40) and 100 free (59.42). PA freshman AJ Helwig won the 400 free (4:49.44), Gallen Fitzkee won the 100 back (1:19.91) and Alessio Castiglioni won the 200 free (2:17.55).

Beach District

First Colonial 188, Kellam 117

Maggie Wright and Dara Duffy were both double-event winners for the Patriots. Wright placed first in the 200 IM (2:28.92) and 100 back (1:05.58), while Duffy won the 50 freestyle (27.29) and 400 free (4:32.07).

Green Run 127, Landstown 104

The Stallions (1-2) earned their first win since 2018. Emily Brochu won both of her individual events with the 400 free and 100 backstroke, while Isadora Le placed first in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke. Bayside hosts Green Run on Friday, Jan. 9.

Princess Anne 149, Bayside 114

Gabby Cooper was a double-event winner for the Cavaliers in the 50 free (30.84) and 100 free (1:05.44). Single event winners were Peyton DeGaramo in the 200 free (2:27.16), Alex Chapman in the 200 IM (2:58.51) and Presley Hoke in the 100 breaststroke (1:27.92). Amelia Reeves was a double-event winner for the Marlins with the 400 free (4:36.68) and 100 fly (1:06.82).

#1 Grassfield 42, Salesianum School (Delaware) 22

The Grizzlies defeated Delaware’s top-ranked team by 20 points. Grassfield had straight victories from the 165 to 285 weight classes, with wins from Nick Moore (165), Nate Moore (175), Colton Jones (190), Chase Burns (215) and Chris Funches (285).

This was Grassfield’s second win over an out-of-state state champion this season, following last Saturday’s victory over Union Pines of North Carolina in Roanoke.

The Comets hosted the Battle on Granby Street and had five undefeated wrestlers: Kaitlyn Robinson (106), Keith Fernandez (113), Liam Smith (120), Jonah Burris (144) and Tijuan Powell (215).
