The Stallions were led by Malik Gooden with 25 points as they clinched a state tournament berth, and Zaevion Cleveland added 14 points. Joziah Mincey paced the SunDevils with 12 points.

#6 Kempsville 79, #2 Princess Anne 66

The Chiefs beat the host Cavaliers to book their path to the state quarterfinals. First, they will challenge No. 1 Green Run for the region championship on Friday at 7 p.m., hosted by Kellam.

Class 5 Region B semifinals

#1 Norview 55, #5 Woodside 52

The top-seeded Pilots narrowly defeated the Wolverines with a state bid at stake.

#3 Nansemond River 56, #2 King’s Fork 53

The Warriors beat their Suffolk rivals, captured a state bid and will play at No. 1 Norview on Friday at 8 p.m. for the region championship.

Class 4 Region A semifinals

#1 Hampton 72, #4 Warhill 31

The Crabbers zoomed past the Lions to ensure a return to the state quarterfinals. First, they will host No. 3 Denbigh for the region title Friday at 7:30 p.m.

#3 Denbigh 49, #2 Lafayette 45

The Patriots outlasted Lafayette to gain a ticket to the state tournament. They were led by Victor George with 20 points. Nasir Johnson followed with 14 points, and Jai’Quan Gray added eight assists. Senior Zyhir Burton represented the Rams with 13 points.

The top-seeded Eagles of Northern Virginia were victorious against New Covenant.

The Patriots’ season ended in Fredericksburg. Benedictine’s gym will be the venue for the Warriors and top-seeded Evergreen Christian in Friday’s semifinals at noon.

The Celtics overcame the No. 3 Wildcats in Caroline County.

#2 Stuart Hall 71, Tandem Friends 49

The Dragons of Staunton earned a spot against No. 6 Roanoke Catholic on Friday at 1:45 p.m.

#1 Banner Christian 112, Richmond Christian 59

The Bearcats decisively defeated Richmond Christian in a Richmond-area clash.

#5 Carlisle 41, #4 Westover Christian 30

The Chiefs of Martinsville and No. 1 Banner Christian will play at 9 a.m. in the day’s first semifinal at Benedictine.

#3 Denbigh Baptist 61, #6 Amelia Academy 47

Playing at home in Newport News, the Minutemen were victorious over Amelia Academy.

#2 Hampton Christian 65, #7 Chelsea Academy 46

By beating a team from Northern Virginia, the Warriors earned the right to meet fellow Metro Conference team Denbigh Baptist on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Benedictine.

Class 5 Region A semifinals

#1 Princess Anne 90, #4 Kellam 50

Micah Ojo led the nationally ranked Cavaliers with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists in a home win to ensure a state berth. Jizelle James and Tristan Rickenbacker scored 19 and 18 respective points, with Rickenbacker also adding six rebounds, six steals and three blocks. Amani Olds totaled 10 points and eight rebounds, while Maya Land-Dailey contributed nine points.

#3 Deep Creek 56, #2 Salem 48

Sophya Webb led all scorers with 25 points for the Hornets. Morgan Herbert was also a double-figure scorer with 13 points. No. 3 Deep Creek and top-seeded Princess Anne will travel to Kellam’s gym at 5:30 p.m. Friday for the Class 5 Region A championship.

Justice Brown-Jones earned a double-double for the Crusaders with 15 points and 11 rebounds as they beat the visiting Richmond-area Titans. Caroline Casady also earned a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Riley Lynch tallied 15 points and five steals.

Brianna Norman led the Ambassadors with a triple-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and six steals as they beat the Middle Peninsula’s visiting Seahorses. Christal Harris recorded a season-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Tamia Dyson totaled 19 points, seven steals and nine rebounds.
