Nasir Johnson’s 15 points and Jamal Jones’ 13 led the Patriots, who put forth a stifling defense. Kevin Parker scored 12 and Daveon Whichard 10.

#3 Woodside 63, Bethel 35

Donnell “Duece” Jarrett scored 22 points and Trent Smalling 13 for the Wolverines. MJ Montague added 10 and Jayden Detrick nine.

#8 Nansemond River 69, Deep Creek 42

Taron Atwater, Jaylon Kebe and Braylon Kebe combined for 31 points. Atwater had 12, Jaylon Kebe 10 and Braylon Kebe nine.

#13 Warhill 59, Bruton 54

Because of flu during the week, the Lions (5-0) only dressed eight players, but they beat the Panthers (3-3) behind Caden Cherry’s 20 points. Shamar McCray, who had eight points and eight rebounds, sank three free throws in the final minute. Nathan Kenbumbala had 12 points for Warhill. Bruton was led by Isaiah Randall with 13 points.

Bay Rivers District

Grafton 64, Smithfield 58

Luke Wenger led the Clippers with 21 points, and Evan Cruea chipped in 14.

Peninsula District

Menchville 54, Heritage 47

Joshua Raheem’s 16 points and Miles Graham’s 11 propelled the Monarchs. Elijah Brown and Mekhi Watkins scored 10 apiece for the Hurricanes.

Southeastern District

Hickory 63, Great Bridge 38

Crue Egnot had 18 points and five steals for the Hawks. Terrance Anderson had 12 points, and Evan White added nine points and nine rebounds.

Indian River 78, Grassfield 66

LJ Luckett’s 24 points and Chris Edwards’ 23 sparked the Braves. Jason Preston and Kymanti Williams added 12 points apiece. For the Grizzlies, Daniel Jerome had 16 points and Jayden Reid and Jonah Henderson provided 12 each.

Private schools

Norfolk Christian 80, StoneBridge 57

The Ambassadors’ Ajian Skeete led all scorers with 28 points and had four assists, and Christian Hines had 11 points and six steals. Connor Holmes had 10 points, Landon McNamara led Norfolk Christian with seven assists. Luke Grethen grabbed seven rebounds, and John Wesley Davis had six rebounds. For the Cavaliers, Blake Walton had 15 points, followed by Isaac Fisher with 14.

Rylie Hite poured in 33 points for the Bulldogs. Mickenzie Cooper added 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Zuriel Pendleton-Morant scored 22 points and Shiya Rogers had 17 for the Crabbers. Jiana Price had 13 and Kennette Callis had 10. For the Phantoms, India Hill scored nine points and Bryashja Kirk seven.

Jaliyah Nettles amassed 26 points and 11 rebounds. Kelsie Swords added 13 points and Iyana Tulloch eight points.

Grassfield 68, Indian River 46

Alex Thompson’s 19 points led the Grizzlies, while Lauren Priester had 15 and Ellery Giddens added 14. The Braves’ Cierra Selby had 23 points, four rebounds, six steals, two blocks and two assists. Indian River’s MyKayla Jenkins had 10 points and five rebounds.

Great Bridge 55, Hickory 32

Amiyah Gordon-Thompson led the Wildcats with 16 points and nine rebounds. Lindsey Manning had 12 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Kelsey King added 12 points and eight rebounds.
