Saturday’s results

Peninsula District

Kecoughtan 14, Menchville 7: James Vinnie’s 5-yard touchdown run with 58 seconds remaining gave the Warriors a victory over the Monarchs at Todd Stadium.

Menchville led 7-0 on a 75-yard touchdown pass by Adrian Wilson IV to Michael Singletary II with 17 seconds to play in the first half. Kecoughtan tied the game at 7 on freshman Ziyon Phillips’ 35-yard TD pass to Josiah Richardson with 4:28 left in the third quarter.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 22, Fredericksburg Christian 0: The Saints (6-3) won on the road to virtually wrap up a VISAA Division II playoff berth.

Ranked third in the D-II poll, they will play at home at 6 p.m. Thursday in their regular-season finale against St. Anne’s-Belfield of Charlottesville. The victor in that game well could be the No. 2 seed and thus the home team in a potential semifinal rematch.
