The top-ranked Knights were led by Damien Robinson with 24 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals. Chase Johnson added 12 points, three assists and three steals, while Josiah Law and Rashad Shaw each scored 10 points. Law also recorded six rebounds, and Shaw logged three rebounds and six steals. Nate Leseley and Mark Watkins scored 16 and 15 respective points for the losing Falcons.

Zaevian Cleveland led all scorers with 20 points for the Stallions. Elijah Ellison and Malik Gooden followed with 11 and 12 points, respectively.
#6 Denbigh 64, Phoebus 52
Jatari McRae totaled 12 points for the Patriots, and Callen Morrison logged six assists. Jermaine Grimes Jr., Victor George and Kevin Parker each scored 11 points. Grimes added five assists, while George and Parker contributed eight and 10 rebounds, respectively. Noah Elliot scored 21 points for the Phantoms.

The Crusaders improved to 5-0 in a game between last season’s TCIS champion and last season’s Metro Conference champion. Dean Williams and Tabren Hawkins scored 28 and 19 points, respectively. Makhi Cofield recorded 17 points for the losing Patriots.
Norfolk Collegiate 55, #8 Granby 51
The Oaks upset the No. 8 Comets in a game hosted by Granby. Legend Bunch led with 14 points, while Sam Naidyhorski logged 12 points and seven rebounds. Gavin Wright added 11 points and eight of the Oaks’ 20 steals. Josh Mills was also a double-figure scorer with 11 points and seven assists. Antonio Williams led all scorers with 19 points for the Comets.
#11 Princess Anne 73, Bayside 36
NaMarqus Byrd led the Cavaliers (2-0) with 21 points and six rebounds. Eziah Goodson finished with 14 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists. Aidan McKeating provided 12 points, eight rebounds and two steals, while Nico Mclntyre logged nine points, five rebounds and three assists.

Warhill 71, Grafton 60
The Lions defeated the Clippers in boys basketball for the first time since 2009. Charlie Archibald, Shamar McCray and Jaydin McLean led with 19, 15 and 16 respective points. Warhill went 12 for 24 when shooting from deep. Evan Cruea was Grafton’s top scorer with 18 points.

James Mueller earned a double-double for the Tigers with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Micah Marbra scored 22 points, and Jackson Houser finished with 13 points and six rebounds.

Kellam 76, First Colonial 65
The Knights were led by Trey Barnhart with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Marques Fitch Jr. and Brody Cooper each contributed 15 points. Noah Yatsu was the top scorer for the Patriots with 19 points. Sam Maloney and Tristan Davies followed with 13 points each.
Salem 48, Kempsville 47
The SunDevils were at a one-point deficit with 0.8 seconds left in the game, but Haziyah Brown sunk two free throws to secure the win. Brown finished with 16 points, and Jason Patrick followed with 12 points. Terrell Lewis added eight points and eight rebounds. The Chiefs were led by Jaydis Flot with 14 points, while Christian Lynch and Isaiah Johnson each scored 12 points.

Bethel 58, Warwick 19
Mason Faulkner was the top scorer for the Bruins with 28 points, five assists and five steals. Shane Brown contributed 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Warriors were led by Jorden Franklin with 21 points.

Deep Creek 83, Grassfield 67
The Hornets were led in the inaugural Canal Cup Tip Off by Eli Griffin with 18 points. Ja’Zah Evans followed with 15 points, and Josh Jamison tallied 11 points and eight assists. Jayden Reid scored 22 points for the Grizzlies.

Great Bridge 46, Booker T. Washington 41
Darien Edge scored a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining and finished with a game-high 23 points. Chase Blachford followed with 11 points for the Wildcats.
Western Branch 78, Cape Henry Collegiate 52
The Bruins were led in their season opener by Jaden Walker with 27 points, five rebounds and three assists. Camryn Clark finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Western Branch hosts No. 3 Nansemond River on Thursday in Southeastern District competition.

Noah Eddy earned a double-double for the winning Seahawks with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Justin Jones totaled 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Colin Pinion and Christien Mason combined for 21 points.

Maya Land-Dailey led the No. 1 Cavaliers in their season opener with 15 points, four rebounds and six steals. Tristan Rickenbacker logged 14 points and five rebounds, and Jizelle James added 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. Amaya Olds contributed seven points and three assists.
#6 Salem 101, Kempsville 11
All SunDevils scored in a dominant victory over the Chiefs, led by Alaya Monroe-Sutton with 26 points and eight rebounds. Imani Johnson, Briseis Estrada, Solest Jones and Valeria Medina were also double-figure scorers with 10, 14, 10 and 12 points, respectively.

Mia Spain and Kate Spain each recorded 19 points for the Knights in their first win of the season. Kate tallied nine steals, and Mia provided eight assists. Raegan Von Fecht added 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Comets were led by Ta’Nya Ricks with 15 points and six assists. Talyah Cannon added 11 points.

The Patriots earned their first Peninsula District win since Dec. 6, 2016. Serenity Turner, Nyleah Forrest and Anajhe Nicholson led with 14, 11 and eight points, respectively.

Jordan Bryant and Makayla Moser scored 24 and 14 respective points for the Warriors. The leading scorer for the Hurricanes was Britnee Green with seven points.

Kelsey King led the Wildcats with 29 points and seven steals. Lindsey Manning followed with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Morgan Cabel added six points and 10 rebounds.
