Hokies gain commitments from 2 offensive linemen
Virginia Tech added two more players — both offensive linemen from New Jersey — to its recent commitment list under new coach James Franklin.
Roseby “Purgatory” Lubintus, 6-foot-6, 350-pounder from Timber Creek High in Sicklerville, chose the Hokies. According to Tech Sideline, he held offers from Florida, Penn State, Maryland and others. 247 Sports Composite lists him as a 3-star prospect.
Marlen Bright, a 6-7, 290-pounder who had committed to Penn State in July, well before Franklin’s firing, cast his lot with the Hokies after visiting last week’s Miami game at Lane Stadium. Rivals lists Bright, from DePaul Catholic in Wayne, as a 4-star prospect.

Slumping Admirals play home series
Looking for a turnaround, the Norfolk Admirals will return to action at 7:05 p.m. Friday against the Maine Mariners at Scope.
Coming off two playoff appearances under coach Jeff Carr, the Admirals (with five wins, eight regulation losses and two overtime defeats for 12 points) are last in the ECHL’s eight-team North Division. The good news for them is that they’re only four points (two victories) out of the top four, where they will need to finish to advance to the playoffs.
The Admirals are selling Black Friday-discounted tickets for the first of a two-game series against third-place Maine (8-4-2-1), an affiliate of the NHL’s Boston Bruins. The Mariners beat Norfolk 5-1 Sunday, the Admirals’ sixth loss in their last seven games.
