If you don’t have the time and money to jet out to Las Vegas for the PBR Teams Championship this weekend, you can still cheer on the Florida Freedom, the team based in Sunrise at Amerant Bank Arena.
The Professional Bull Riders competition will be televised, but you might need a bit of Cuban coffee to make it through.
Although the event begins Friday, since the Florida Freedom dominated the regular season, they have a first-round bye.
On Saturday, the championship will be televised from 10:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. on CW stations. In Miami-Dade and Broward counties, that is WBFS, known as Channel 33; in Palm Beach County it is WTVX, which is Channel 34. Cable and satellite TV may show the channels on different numbers.
If the Freedom advance to the final day of competition on Sunday, that will be televised in a more East Coast friendly slot, from 5 to 7 p.m. on the same channels.
The Florida Freedom is owned by Heath Freeman, chairman of Tribune Publishing, the parent company of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
