Around 1,000 motorcyclists are expected to make their way to St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill this weekend for the 15th, and final, Tucker’s Toy Run.
The motorcyclists will deliver toys to the hospital for the pediatric patients at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital and its other campuses. About 60,000 toys have been given to pediatric patients from the event since its inception in 2011, according to a St. Luke’s Health Network news release.
Officials estimate about 5,000 toys will be taken to patients when the toy run kicks off Saturday.
The motorcyclists will leave at around noon from the Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club in Northampton and will arrive at the hospital in Fountain Hill about 30 minutes later.
Toy run organizer Rick Nauman named the event after Tucker Stuart, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2011. He estimated about 60 motorcyclists participated in the 2011 event.
