Hunger Street Tacos, one of Orlando’s most-loved (on Tuesdays and otherwise), has closed its Winter Garden location at Plant Street Market.
The closure, which came on Sept. 7, marks a new phase for the company, Owner Joseph Creech told the Orlando Sentinel, an exciting venture that will be announced in the coming weeks. As for the Winter Park location (2103 W. Fairbanks Ave.), it’s “business as usual.”
“We are deeply grateful to our incredible team of employees who have poured their hearts into this restaurant, and to our friends at Crooked Can Brewing Company for their partnership and support,” Creech said in a press release.
Creech operates the business with his brother, David, and wife, Seydi.
David, Seydi and Joseph Creech won’t be spinning the trompo in Winter Garden anymore, but have new ventures on the horizon. Details soon to come. (Hunger Street Tacos)
“This location has been a meaningful part of our Hunger Street journey, and we are thankful for the Winter Garden community that has supported us over the years.”
The Plant Street location opened in 2021.
Their space at the market won’t sit cold very long. Plans for Winter Park’s Jam Hot Chicken to take over the space are already underway. Owner/operator Andrew Scala is eager to set palates afire at what will be Jam Hot’s second location.
Meanwhile, the Hunger Street team remains committed to celebrating Mexican food, culture and art through its other ventures. Details on that to come soon. Follow HST on Instagram at instagram.com/hunger_street to stay in the loop.
