The Miami Hurricanes’ hot streak on the recruiting trail continued Tuesday evening.
Miami landed a commitment from four-star 2026 tight end Gavin Mueller, flipping the Illinois native from Colorado.
Mueller, who is listed as the No. 11 tight end and No. 248 player in the class by 247Sports, also had offers from Alabama and LSU, among others.
Mueller is listed at 6 foot 5 and 255 pounds.
Mueller is a prolific offensive player, scoring six touchdowns in a win earlier this season. He racked up 1,325 all-purpose yards and scored a school record 30 touchdowns.
“He’s an unbelievable athlete, great kid, really positive energy,” Mueller’s high school coach Pat Pistorio told the Chicago Tribune. “He was able to adjust quickly and is really fitting in well with our team and our school. He’s starving to be great.
“He’s the type of student that is a leader in the classroom, too. He understands how important this time is for him and he’s really focused and he’s excited about the opportunities ahead of him.”
The Hurricanes have another four-star tight end in their 2026 class, Israel Briggs.
