All eastbound lanes of I-64 at the 242-mile marker are shut down for a shooting investigation, according to a press release from Virginia State Police.
The shooting happened on the interstate, police said. A traffic diversion is in place at Humelsine Parkway and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
One person has been taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center, but the severity of the injury was not made public.
No other details were provided.
