Connecticut has a $1 million winner, according to the CT Lottery.
A Fairfield man was the lucky winner, according to the CT Lottery, who described the winning moment by saying “I just went numb.”
“The longtime CT Lottery player had originally won $1,000 when the clerk jokingly suggested he buy one more game since the player seemed lucky,” according to the CT Lottery. “He decided to go for it, purchasing Best Chance To Be A Millionaire, the newest scratch game from the CT Lottery’s First Tuesday lineup of new games for January.
“At the time, the player didn’t have his glasses on, so he asked the clerk to scan the just-scratched ticket for him. Seconds later, the clerk delivered the words that stopped him cold: ‘You won the big one.’ The realization hit immediately, leaving the new millionaire, as he described it, stunned and momentarily speechless.”
“News Express on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield,” where the winning ticket was sold, “will receive a $10,000 bonus,” according to the CT Lottery.
