Inside Business 2025 Women in Business: Nicole Newsome

Job: CEO, Qantm Creative

At work: I lead Qantm Creative with innovation, collaboration and compassion.

Volunteer activities: Mentor at Kempsville High School’s Entrepreneurship and Business Academy, Hampton Roads Pride board of directors.

Home and family: I was born in Norfolk and now live in Virginia Beach. I have two incredible children. My son graduated from the University of Virginia in May and is a scientist at the National Institutes of Health. My daughter is at James Madison University studying business.

Motivating factor: My team being recognized and appreciated for its incredible work.

Advice for women in business: Be radically honest. It may be tough, but the outcome of complete transparency is worth it.

The one thing I would change about Hampton Roads: I would love to see more collaboration between cities on major transportation and climate projects.

Professional goal in five years: Grow Qantm to its largest revenue and employee growth.

Downtime: I enjoy the outdoors, live music, sports and a nice cigar.

What really gets under my skin: People complaining without bringing solutions to the table.
