Get ready to sweat, Winter Garden, because JAM Hot Chicken has announced its expansion into Plant Street Market.
It’s a thrilling move for Andrew Scala, who grew up on Orlando’s west side.
“It’s like coming home for me,” he told the Orlando Sentinel, noting that he’s a longtime fan of both the market and Crooked Can Brewing Company‘s solid pours, which are likely to tick up in response to the influx of Scovilles.

Scala and his team will be moving into the cozy confines recently vacated by Hunger Street Tacos, but they’re used to close quarters after several years slinging sandos and tenders in their Winter Park location.
“It’s relatively similar to the space we’re in now … so, we’re not biting off more than we can chew. We’re used to this style of space and service.”
Fans can expect all the JAM Hot classics — sandwiches, tenders, loaded fries and the popular 6th Man Wrap — but Scala says they’ve got some new ideas cooking and Plant Street exclusives to be announced.
“Partnering with Crooked Can is a dream come true,” says Scala. “I love the product and what it represents. They’re very community-driven, as we are, working with local favorites and collaborating with other businesses.”
Scala, whose done many such collabs with other entrepreneurs, loves the fresh ideas they generate, and looks to bring that energy to the Winter Garden area, which might not get as much love as some of Orlando’s other neighborhoods.
“Not everything cool has to be on the east side of town, so we’re looking forward to bringing the west side some love, too.”
Look for a mid-October opening and follow JAM Hot Chicken on social media (instagram.com/jamhotchicken; facebook.com/JAMhotchicken) to stay in the loop.
