Legislators, answer call on vouchers
A lot is being written about public schools and vouchers. We know what is happening but no one explains why.
Do legislators think voters want vouchers?
Do they think, without proof, that private schools provide a better education?
Do they think they should follow DeSantis’ plan?
Do they think about the cost of vouchers, taxpayer money that should go to public schools?
Are there other reasons?
Why legislators vote for vouchers is a question that should be answered. The public has a right to know.

Intimidation gearing up for election?
Not long ago, Donald Trump threatened to use American cities to train troops for combat. Now, it looks like he is using Minneapolis to train ICE and Customs and Border Patrol for violence and intimidation. I fear that what they really are training for is the 2026 election. The brave Minnesotans are standing up to them, as the brave civil rights activists did so many years ago. Let’s hope we all find that courage when we are confronted on our way to the polls this year.

Trump acts like he can’t be stopped
It is hypocritical that Trump is adamant that Iran must not harass, arrest, jail or kill citizen protesters protesting Iran’s cruel, conservative, theocratic leadership. Apparently, even if some protests are violent.
Who among us would have predicted that the world’s superpower president would invade a country, contemplate invading others and say he is not into nation-building? After which, Trump incredibly thinks he is deserving of a peace prize – apparently from any source.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, apparently the administration believes it is not OK if our citizens peacefully protest. And if any fringe persons act up, it looks like it is quite OK for U.S. forces to harm or kill them.
The crimes committed by the Trump administration and pals are stunni]ng in that they don’t seem to mind their white-collar accusations and Constitution-trampling being public, because they clearly believe they are above law and order and our Constitution. Trump is operating like he cannot be stopped by the Congress, his Cabinet secretaries or the Supreme Court.
I believe we are in a dictatorship, searching for ISIS or Taliban-type conservative theocracy.

Doing Putin’s bidding
President Trump has repeated his demand for the U.S. to take control of Greenland. He seems to be doing exactly what Vladimir Putin wants. Trump has leaned toward Putin’s side in Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Putin approves of Trump’s seizing Venezuela’s president and his wife, bringing them to the U.S. for trial. Invading and seizing Greenland would destroy NATO, exactly what Putin seems to want.
Whatever the source of the control, it is clear to me that Trump is discharging orders given to him by Putin. Peace and stability in the world are now at a tipping point with Trump’s military aggression and his actions to dismantle NATO. Democracy here at home is also facing its most serious threat since the Civil War. We need a modern-day Thomas Paine to come to our aid: “These are the times that try men’s souls.”
