Governor’s debate
On Oct. 9, I watched the entire gubernatorial debate. From start to finish, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears acted more like an intimidator rather than a person seeking to be the governor of Virginia.
Earle-Sears did not allow her opponent to answer questions uninterrupted. Earle-Sears was an antagonistic opponent. Because the panelists did not end the nonstop attacks, it clearly showed “journalistic malpractice” throughout the debate.
Earle-Sears’ behavior did absolutely nothing to quell the violence that has been taking place in this nation since the 2015-2016 campaign for president. This is not the type of behavior that our youth should be subjected to.
Regarding her menacing attacks against Democratic nominee for attorney general and former Del. Jay Jones, Earle-Sears has no standing. Republicans have repeatedly called for violence against American citizens. This made her accusations void of any legitimacy.
While Democratic nominee for governor and former U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger tried repeatedly to take the high road, I strongly believe she missed an opportunity to properly address the constant Jones text message attacks. Spanberger could have said this is the 70th anniversary of the horrific murder of Emmett Till, “I am not able to suggest what a grown man, a father or son should write or discuss.”
This debate clearly showed that Earle-Sears is not ready for primetime or to be governor of the commonwealth of Virginia.

National Guard
How much did we pay for Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s unnecessary call up of our Virginia National Guard for the second “No Kings” demonstration? It, clearly, was not necessary.
The first “No Kings” demonstrations were peaceful and there was no reason to expect a different outcome. The only benefit to the call up was to endear President Donald Trump and Republican leaders to our fine governor. I understand he is looking for a job.

No Kings
There has been much in the news about demonstrations with a multitude of people marching and carrying signs touting “No Kings.” Enough of this was happening for me to do some research.
According to Wikipedia, the “No Kings” protests were organized by Indivisible and other progressive organizations. Who is funding these organizations? More research was needed. It turns out some of the big money behind these progressive organizations is none other than George Soros. Very few people on this side of the Communist Chinese and the current Iranian leadership hate this country more than Soros, so learning his hand was in all of this caused me concern. Seeing masses in the streets waving signs and chanting, I can hear former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton laughing and referring to them as “useful idiots.”

Jay Jones
I can’t help but wonder where all these people who are outraged over the musings of Democratic attorney general candidate Jay Jones were in 2016? At a campaign stop in Iowa, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump proclaimed, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and not lose any voters.”
Why is a private text day dreaming about harming someone who has done harm to many people through hateful policies worse than a public statement about shooting a random person on the street? I guess none of these outraged people ever had thoughts about taking retribution against someone who did them wrong. It was wrong and shouldn’t have been said, but move on.
Just vote for the candidate that most aligns with what you believe is the best path for Virginia to follow, not because of some dirt being dug up from the past. The days of thinking our leaders are saints are long gone; after all we have a convicted felon as president.
