LVHN again offering drive-thru flu shots. Here’s what you need to know.

Lehigh Valley Health Network, part of Jefferson Health, will administer free flu shots for the 28th straight year to adults and children ages 6 months and older during two drive-thru clinics in October.

Vaccines will be available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks, 3780 Hecktown Road, Lower Nazareth Township, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Integrated Health Campus, 240 Cetronia Road, South Whitehall Township.

Over the last 27 years, LVHN has administered nearly 215,000 free flu shots through its annual community influenza vaccination campaign.

Everyone receiving a flu shot at either location is asked to fill out a consent form and register online at LVHN.org/flushot. Those planning to receive a flu shot should wear loose-fitting clothing so the shot can be administered in the arm, or the leg for children under 2 years old.

LVHN is once again partnering with area food banks and shelters to accept donations of unexpired, nonperishable food items during each of the drive-thru sessions. Food donations are optional and not required to receive a shot.

Volunteers also will be collecting other items to assist those in need in the community, including diapers, personal hygiene products, coffee pods and disinfectant wipes.
