I had the same issue (Epic edition). I read that disabling the launcher solved the problem so I did that, then I updated my nVidia drivers and launched the game and had no black screen. So it was either because of the driver update or because I disabled the launcher. Either way, these are two other things to try if someone doesn’t want to change the startup options.
