A 30-year-old man was fatally injured after police say he was rear-ended overnight on the West Side in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the victim was facing east at a traffic light in the 2600 block of West Warren Boulevard when he was rear-ended by a black Dodge SUV, police said. The 30-year-old man suffered several injuries to the body, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 42-year-old driver of the Durango was taken into custody and charges were pending.
The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.
